Fire fighters extinguish small fire at Lonnie’s Recycling in North Lawrence
A pile of trash and several cars at Lonnie’s Recycling in North Lawrence, 501 Maple St., caught fire Tuesday morning.
The fire was reported shortly after 11 a.m. A police officer at the scene reported a small explosion, which spread the fire to a nearby tree.
Lawrence Douglas County Fire Medical had the fire under control by about 11:20 a.m. There were no injuries reported.
