For the third day in a row, Lawrence and northeast Kansas are sweating it out under an excessive heat warning.

The high today is expected to be about 100, with heat indices between 105 and 115 degrees.

Remember to avoid strenuous outdoor activities, and drink plenty of nonalcoholic fluids.

Also, if you don't have air conditioning in your home, Douglas County Emergency Management urges you to visit one of these public buildings that will be open for those who are trying to beat the heat.

We've only been under an excessive heat warning since Friday.

Everything prior was child's play.

well my sweaty (you know what ) can tell it is a bit humid/hot out. Too many chores to get done outside, thank goodness the adult beverages are frosty cold.

I have lived through many Kansas summers with multiple days of 100 degree heat. This is the first time I have ever seen an "excessive heat" warning. The year I graduated high school, the temp was 85 degrees at midnight in May, and we did not have AC. There were no "excessive heat" warnings then, and everyone did just fine. Whassup with this new scare mongering about the heat?
