Officials still trying to determine cause of west Lawrence house fire
Firefighters on Wednesday were still investigating the cause of a Tuesday afternoon fire that caused significant damage at a west Lawrence home.
Fire marshal James King, a division chief for Lawrence-Douglas County Fire Medical, said investigators were still trying to determine the cause for the fire in the 1100 block of Cynthia Street near Kasold Drive and Harvard Road. A damage estimate also was not available.
Ted Faucher, the homeowner injured in the fire, was treated and released from Lawrence Memorial Hospital, an LMH spokeswoman said.
A firefighter was also treated for heat exposure. The family’s parakeet perished in the fire.
