Heat advisory in effect for Douglas County until 8 p.m.
The National Weather Service has issued a heat advisory for Douglas and surrounding counties effective until 8 p.m. Friday.
Area counties included in the advisory are
- Brown
- Douglas
- Jackson
- Jefferson
- Nemaha
Temperatures will range from 99 to 103 degrees, with heat index values of 102-107.
Heat-related illnesses are possible at these temperatures. Take extra precautions if working or spending time outside — like drinking plenty of non-alcoholic fluids and wearing loose and light-weight clothing.
