The real fraud

To the editor:

Our new secretary of state, Kris Kobach, has, true to his campaign promise, introduced legislation to require Kansas voters to provide picture identification in order to vote.

This emperor has no clothes. How many cases of voter fraud have been prosecuted in Kansas’ history? One? Five? A dozen?

Aside from the obvious problem that he is not mandated to waste our state’s resources to produce solutions to problems that don’t exist, the transparent attempt at voter suppression makes me gag.

Kobach says he wants our voting procedures to emulate Arizona’s immigration policies. This Kansan doesn’t want anything to do with any of the misguided, draconian, offensive policies of Arizona. This Kansan wants our emperor to get off his political high horse and do the job he was elected to do. Oh, and while you’re at it, how about putting full-time energy for full-time pay and how about doing the state’s business instead of traveling the country pushing your anti-immigration agenda?
