Topeka ? The Kansas Board of Regents on Wednesday authorized the issuance of $13.1 million in revenue bonds to renovate Gertrude Sellards Pearson Hall at Kansas University.

The renovation is expected to start this summer and take a year with GSP reopening for the 2012-13 academic year.

Now a women’s residence hall, it will become co-ed. Students who would otherwise be living in GSP will be accommodated in other student housing during the renovation, KU spokesman Jack Martin said.

The project will be paid off with housing system revenues and other funds at KU.
