Wichita woman stabbed to death, grandson suspect

? Wichita police say a 69-year-old woman died after being stabbed several times with several instruments as she sat at a table.

Wichita police Lt. Ken Landwehr says Gertrude Lott’s 22-year-old grandson has been is being held on suspicion of first-degree murder after Lott’s death on Thursday

Landwehr says police found Lott mortally wounded when they arrived at the home she shared with two grandsons. The suspect had a self-inflicted wound but was not seriously injured. The other grandson was not at home.

He says the suspect had asked his father and stepmother to come to the house Thursday and tried to attack them when they arrived, but they were not hurt.
