Grateful driver

To the editor:

Last Tuesday afternoon, I had the misfortune for my automobile to spin out of control on Clinton Parkway at Kasold Drive with my car very suddenly on the south sidewalk with the front end on Clinton Parkway. Two women in separate cars stopped and made sure I was all right. They had their cell phones and made the necessary calls to the AAA, the police and my insurance agent. Although it was cold, they stayed with me until the police arrived.

I did ask the women for their names, but I failed to make a note so by the time I was able to get home, I had forgotten what they told me. I wanted to let them know how much I appreciated their assistance on a cold, windy day.

No one says "Bah, humbug" better than Bozo.

Thirdplanet, thanks for being a Good Samaritan.

jafs 4 years, 1 month ago

Her Good Samaritan actions are praiseworthy.

Her judgement in putting her name and phone number online is a bit questionable.

And that's even if it is really one of the girls and not someone trying to play a stupid joke.

jafs 4 years, 1 month ago

Good point.

If it's one of her friends, she'll be royally p-o'd!

:) Naivety is a virtue, a sign of an open mind.

Cell phones have the area code of where they were bought and their plan set up. My daughter lives in Pratt and has a 785 area code because her phone came from Topeka. We will maintain our 785 on our cellies when we move to TN. Area codes don't mean anything anymore other than adding three more numbers to your phone # unless you have a land based line which is becoming more and more rare.

just_another_bozo_on_this_bus 4 years, 1 month ago

The downside (or maybe the upside) of that is that anyone there calling you from a landline will have to pay long-distance charges.

Yes, the ladies in the 900 area code are the same way!

Nothing like a little competition for that coffee escort business.

I don't think Bozo needs to worry about these nice ladies competing to escort him out for coffee. (roflol)

well Tangy, you could always phone "thirdplanet" for consolation, but it'll have to be over "hot coffee" whatever that's double-entandre for these days!

I still have that number if you're desperate man.

it's always sad when you see a member of the herd lagging behind, soon to become prey to the ravaging predators. just sad.

Damn, I keep missing the deleted comments before they get disappearededed and then I can't make any sense of the replies.

just_another_bozo_on_this_bus 4 years, 1 month ago

Most didn't make much sense even before all the disappearedness.
