KU women suffer first loss, fall to Alabama, 80-76

Kansas University rallied from a 10-point halftime deficit, but ultimately settled for an 80-76 setback Sunday at Alabama.

Junior Carolyn Davis and sophomore Keena Mays scored 21 points apiece for the Jayhawks (7-1). Aishah Sutherland contributed 15 points and six rebounds, and Angel Goodrich had seven points, a career-best nine rebounds and 12 assists for KU.

Mays’ 21 points were a career high and came on 8-for-12 shooting (4-for-6 from three-point range) –off the bench.

Jasmine Robinson had a game-high 24 points for ‘Bama (7-2).

KU will entertain Wisconsin at 7 p.m. Thursday at Allen Fieldhouse. The game will be televised on Metro Sports
