Douglas County prosecutors Friday requested additional investigation from Lawrence police after officers Thursday afternoon arrested a 32-year-old Ozawkie man after he was accused of stealing a construction worker’s pickup truck near Sixth and Maine streets. Several officers searched for the man near Lawrence Memorial Hospital before he was arrested on North Michigan Street north of Interstate 70.

The man was released from the Douglas County Jail on Friday afternoon as prosecutors declined to file formal charges until they get more information. The Journal-World generally does not identify suspects unless they are formally charged.
