Vinland pride

It is great that the Vinland Fair gets coverage each year, but, simply put, Vinland and the Vinland Fair are not in Baldwin City as the Friday Journal-World cover story says twice over.
I believe that the loyal residents of the small Vinland community and the fair organizers take some pride in their historic fair and their community and would likely prefer no confusion with a “Baldwin City” location approximately four miles south and over the ridge from Vinland.
Please don’t confuse a rural mailing address with an actual physical location. I can just imagine persons new to the area driving into Baldwin City searching for “old-fashioned” fun at the Vinland Fair. Ha!
