Two area churches offering clothing for children heading back to school
Two area churches are hosting clothing events on upcoming Saturdays.
Ninth Street Missionary Baptist Church will conduct a back-to-school clothing distribution event from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Aug. 13 in the parking lot at 901 Tenn.
The event will feature used and some new clothing, which will offered be on a first-come, first-served basis. The event is free and open to any member of the public who has children.
Stull Methodist Church, 1596 E. 250 Road in Lecompton, will host a “Back to School” day from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Aug. 20 in the church basement. The event will feature free clothing for boys and girls, sizes six to 16. Families in need are welcome, and there is no income requirement. There will also be free backpacks with school supplies available.
