— Free State’s soccer team suffered a 2-0 loss to Shawnee Mission Northwest at the SM District Complex.

“We played well, but we gave up two early goals and did not recover from that,” FSHS coach Kelly Barah said. “(SM Northwest) played well. They’re well coached.”

Free State fell to 5-2 and will play host to SM West on Thursday.

In the "lesser" sports, it is often the coach's responsibility to get the information to the newspaper if they want anything included. Some coaches appear to do a better job of that than others do. A quick glance at the schedules for the various sports will give you an idea about who does a better job keeping the paper informed.

From the KC Star it appears that Lawrence High lost to Olathe South 7-0.

Yikes...I wouldn't call that in either. The LHS central defense and goalkeeper were great against Free State. Wow.

Thanks Coach B for calling in the score. (However simple that may seem.)
