KU fills post of chief information officer

A university administrator from Texas will serve as Kansas University’s next chief information officer.

Bob Lim, vice president for information technology at the University of Texas-Pan American, will assume the role on June 13.

He will administer central IT programs on the Lawrence campus, and will oversee the development and implementation of a campus IT strategic plan.

KU’s last permanent chief information officer was Denise Stephens, who had been serving as vice provost for information services. She left KU recently to become university librarian at the University of California-Santa Barbara.

The chief information officer position has been reorganized in the time since Stephens held the title. Lim will report to Diane Goddard, vice provost for administration and finance.
