Edgerton ? Free State High’s girls tennis team won the eight-team Gardner-Edgerton Tournament on Tuesday.

First-place finishes by both doubles teams propelled the Firebirds to the team championship.

Kelly Phipps and Alexis Czapinski, and Caitlin Tilden and Libby Hillis both finished 4-0. Tilden and Hillis improved to 11-0 overall.

Jackie Garcia placed second in No. 2 singles, and Emily Sadosky fourth in No. 1 singles.
