Lawrence Police have found a missing Lawrence woman after issuing a silver alert to help find her.
The silver alert was issued for Florence Smith, an 87-year-old Lawrence woman who was last seen about 8 p.m. Monday. Police located her about 11:45 p.m.
According to the alert, Smith walked away from her home in the 900 block of Highland. She went to the Hillcrest Shopping Center at Ninth and Iowa streets and tried to buy stamps.
According to Douglas County emergency dispatchers, police dogs were brought in to assist with the search.
