A 22-year-old KU student was victim of an aggravated battery early Sunday morning in the 900 block of Vermont Street. According to Lawrence Police Sgt. Bronson Star, the victim was struck by a truck in a parking lot. A white male exited the truck and yelled at the victim before getting back in and driving away. The victim was not injured.

Star said the victim’s friends believed the suspect was a man the victim had gotten into a dispute with earlier that evening. They provided police with a license plate number, and the suspect was located and interviewed. Star said the report has been forwarded to the district attorney’s office to determine whether charges will be filed.
