October 27, 2010

— Soldiers from Fort Riley's 1st Infantry Division are scheduled to deploy to Iraq next month for a year.

The soldiers are from the division's 2nd Heavy Brigade Combat Team. Their mission, starting in November, will be to assist Iraqi leaders and citizens in establishing security.

A deployment ceremony is scheduled Friday at King Field House on the northeast Kansas post.

The soldiers recently finished training for the mission at the Joint Readiness Training Center at Fort Polk, La.

The sad thing about this Iraq war with (what kind of people are they), Taliban, pakis) is it will never end. They have been killing each other for thousands of years. God made them that way, no other reasons. They just kill, kill, kill, and kill. It cycle or like a broken record. But if they came to USA, we be all dead now or thousands would be dead if not millions. So keeping the war over there keeps us safe here in USA and we can rant all we want. Freedom is not FREE; someone has to die for it. And people of every race is fighting for. I know of this Chinese immigrant, their son is in the navy. What I been told was the guy told his parents "I am doing this for you, for our freedom". This is just one example why people enlist into the miltary. They have their reasons.
