Lawrence Police investigating attempted child abduction in eastern Lawrence
Lawrence Police Sunday afternoon were investigating an attempted child abduction in eastern Lawrence.
Shortly after 3 p.m. Sunday, police were near the south entrance to Edgewood Park, or near the 1600 block of Maple Lane, investigating the attempted abduction, Douglas County police dispatchers said.
There were conflicting reports as to whether an abduction had actually occurred or only been attempted. As of 3:30 p.m., however, police had detained at least one adult and were not looking for an abducted child.
