Lawrence man arrested after leading police on brief foot chase
A 28-year-old Lawrence man was arrested Saturday evening after leading police on a brief foot chase down Massachusetts Street.
According to Lawrence Police Sgt. Randy Roberts, the incident began as an alcohol violation downtown about 10:21 p.m.
The suspect ran from police southbound on Massachusetts Street before being apprehended near the intersection of 14th and Vermont Streets.
The man was arrested on charges of consumption in public, being intoxicated in a roadway and interfering with the duties of an officer.
