Shawnee Lawrence High is going to state as a team, and Free State High is sending three individuals to state after their showing at a Class 6A regional golf tournament Tuesday at Painted Hills Golf Course.
Shawnee Mission East won the team title with 322 strokes, and LHS was second with 397 to earn an automatic team berth to state.
Payton Covert was fifth and Kathryn Lunte sixth with 93s to pace the Lions. The rest of the state-bound Lions’ regional team: Taylor Covert, Quillen Eichhorn, Kelsey Consorver and Attie Pennybaker.
Firebirds Alyson Butler (105), Serena O’Connor (107) and Madison Brumley (117) also qualified for state individually.
