To the editor:

Though I appreciate the honesty of the letter titled “Brownback record” (Journal-World, Oct. 5), I think most Kansans would not appreciate their religious beliefs being called superstition, nor has the creation theory been disproved, so please do not discount it so quickly. There are historical facts that prove otherwise.

The fact that Sam Brownback supports a religious organization (not secretive) is his right, though the title of “the family” certainly does not sound too dangerous. If anyone wants to find out about his background they can learn quite a bit on the Internet. I urge people to check out where he stands on issues and I pray you will make the right decisions based on your own values, standards, and judgment. It is time for honesty, courage and, yes, faith in our leaders.
