Immediate needs

• Lawrence Family Promise is in need of volunteers with skills in weatherization to help prepare its day center for the winter. The day center is an old, drafty house, and could really benefit from some caulk on windows, weather stripping on doors, etc. If you can help, contact Samantha Snyder at 856-1417 or samantha@lawrencefamilypromise.org

• Douglas County Senior Services is looking for a volunteer Spanish teacher for the Senior Center. Volunteers will teach conversational Spanish to beginner/intermediate-level students. Contact Jessie Kwatamdia at 842-0543 or jessie@sunflower.com

• Lawrence Memorial Hospital is seeking RNs and LPNs for its Nurse Volunteer program. If you miss patient care and doing that things that made you want to become a nurse in the first place, contact LMH for more information about this program. All volunteers must have a current Kansas RN or LPN license and have worked as a nurse for at least two years. Contact Allyson Leland at 840-3141 or Allyson.Leland@LMH.org.

• Midnight Farm, a program of CLO, is in need of volunteers to assist with its day service classes. Day service classes are for adults with a variety of special needs; some examples of classes include arts and crafts, gardening, nature hikes and education, farm animal experiences, music, sports, etc. Contact Bonnie Bruns at 785-979-1889 for more details.
