Suspicious package near Lawrence Paper Co. determined to be harmless
Police vehicles block off a portion of Lakeview Road while officers investigate reports of a suspicious package.
Police closed Lakeview Road near the Lawrence Paper Co. Friday afternoon while they investigated a suspicious package in the area.
The package, which police and members of a bomb squad from Leavenworth County determined was not harmful, was found by a security guard about 10:30 Friday morning.
It was near some gasoline pumps on the south side of the 2400 block of Lakeview Road. Though the business was closed for the day, police closed the road for more than three hours while investigating the package.
