Police closed Lakeview Road near the Lawrence Paper Co. Friday afternoon while they investigated a suspicious package in the area.

The package, which police and members of a bomb squad from Leavenworth County determined was not harmful, was found by a security guard about 10:30 Friday morning.

It was near some gasoline pumps on the south side of the 2400 block of Lakeview Road. Though the business was closed for the day, police closed the road for more than three hours while investigating the package.

Clearly all motorists should be required to pass through an xray screen or groping in order to prevent these terroristic tactics of our ever present, but rarely seen, enemies - "the Terrorists."

Also, somehow this must be that black Obama's fault.

Cops dont seem too worried about it. They haven't evacuated anybody.

After making it through 11/24 (they say the busiest travel day of the year) wouldn't the TSA be better at knowing if a "package" was suspicious?

"Smells normal, feels normal, looks normal. I would say this "package" is safe to open"

Love the jokes, but if a Christmas tree lighting in Oregon can be a target, why not a paper plant.

"... it's in Oregon; and Oregon like you know, nobody ever thinks about it."
