Candlelight vigil, speakers to highlight World AIDS Day observance in Lawrence

The Douglas County AIDS Project is collaborating with Kansas University to host a speakers panel and candlelight vigil next week.

The program, scheduled from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Hawk’s Nest in the Kansas Union, will coordinate with World AIDS Day events across the state.

The World Health Organization established World AIDS Day in 1988 to raise awareness and focus attention on the global AIDS epidemic.
