Topeka ? Kansas Attorney General Steve Six says the U.S. Department of Justice has ceritified the state’s child abduction response team.

Six said Tuesday that the state’s team is the 10th in the nation to be certified.

Six says the team provides procedures that communities statewide can use when a child goes missing. The team will provide training on those procedures in various communities.

Kansas’ child abduction response team was evaluated by the Department of Justice during a mock child abduction on Oct. 1 in Arkansas City.

The program works with the AMBER program, which is primarily for distributing information to the public about missing children.
