Water main break closes part of Sixth Street between Minnesota and Wisconsin

A water main break on Sixth Street forced repair crews to shut down both westbound lanes between Minnesota and Wisconsin, according to a press release from the city.

Traffic traveling west will be diverted into the center turn lane until repairs are complete.

Drivers should expect delays in the area throughout Monday evening rush hour while crews repair the eight-inch cast iron water main. Traffic control will be on the scene, but the city is encouraging drivers to take alternate routes.

According to the release, crews should finish repairing the water main Monday evening.
