Faulty thinking

To the editor:

The Journal-World’s editorial of Thursday, Nov. 4 entitled “Election message” did swimmingly well for the top two-thirds of the opinion. However, at the bottom, under the three stars heading, the writer went off on a “planet of HIS or HER own,” chastising Lawrence for not voting the way the rest of the state did. AND, the writer even had the temerity to infer that Lawrence was indeed doomed for its free-thinking ways. How ridiculous! Could it be that Lawrence voters vote for the merits of each candidate? What a novel idea.

We have a severe educational funding problem made worse by the wrongheaded votes of citizens who refused to study the issues and simply rebelled, voting for anyone who had an “R” beside the voting oval.
