Immediate needs

• There are numerous volunteer opportunities for the 2010 Tour of Lawrence in early July. T-shirts and meals will be provided to all volunteers. Course setup on Saturday morning, July 3, starts at 5 a.m. at Wescoe Hall at Kansas University, with the KU Campus Circuit Race beginning at 9 a.m. On July 4, setup for the Downtown Criterium begins at 8 a.m., with the first race at 11 a.m. Course marshals will be needed on both Saturday and Sunday, and other needs include registration, volunteer table and officials’ assistants. Tear-down will begin immediately following the conclusion of racing each day: approximately 9:30 p.m. Friday, following the Eldridge Hotel Street Sprints downtown, and 7 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. • Habitat for Humanity is looking for additional finance committee members. Duties would include attending monthly meetings to review and make recommendations on financial tracking and policies. Volunteers should have an interest in helping achieve the mission of Lawrence Habitat for Humanity; experience in GAP accounting or general financial knowledge is a plus. The committee currently meets at 5:30 p.m. on the third Thursday of the month. Contact mharp@sunflower.com if you are interested in getting involved.

• The Lawrence Arts Center, 940 N.H., will celebrate 35 years with a Street P’Arty from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, June 12. Volunteers are needed for setup and cleanup, and also to help at the paint slingshot booth. Volunteers can work a one-hour shift, or for as long as they wish. For more information, contact Rachael at 843-2787.
