City commission agenda for May 25, 2010
Street repairs could get funding boost
Bottom line
City commissioners are being asked to add $511,000 to the city’s street maintenance program to make emergency repairs to four more city streets and two city parking lots.
Background
City staff members are proposing this work: concrete rehabilitation for the intersection of 23rd Street and Haskell Avenue; mill and overlay Missouri Street from Ninth to 11th streets; mill and overlay Emery Road from Ninth Street to High Drive; and mill and overlay 17th Street from Indiana to Illinois streets.
A parking lot on the west side of the 700 block of New Hampshire and a lot at the southwest corner of Sixth and New Hampshire also are being proposed for resurfacing. The city’s capital reserve fund, which has a balance of $2 million, would handle $500,000 of the additional funding. The remaining $11,000 would come from the city’s parking fund.
