The Community Blood Center is offering a number of Lawrence area blood drives in June.

Blood supply typically runs low during the summer because of vacations and lack of high school participants, said Edie Hancock, donor recruitment representative.

The Kansas City, Mo.-based center supplies blood to 72 area hospitals including Lawrence Memorial Hospital. LMH uses about 175 pints per month.

The drives will be:

• June 4 — Midas Auto, 2801 Iowa.

• June 16 — St. Lawrence Catholic Center, 1631 Crescent Road.

• June 21 — Community Health Facility 200 Maine.

• June 22 — Lawrence Masonic Center, 1301 E. 25th St.

• June 24 — United Methodist Church, 2084 N. 1300 Road, Eudora.

• June 29 — Crown Automotive, 3430 S. Iowa.
