What a deal!

If you donate a pint of blood, you get a free pint of Blue Bell ice cream. Donors also will receive a buy-one-get-one-free voucher for Schlitterbahn Vacation Village Waterpark.

The Community Blood Center drive will be from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. today at Lawrence Memorial Hospital, 325 Maine.

Anyone in good health, at least 16 years old, and a minimum of 115 pounds may donate blood every eight weeks.

The Kansas City, Mo.-based Community Blood Center serves 73 hospitals in Missouri and Kansas, including Lawrence Memorial Hospital and Kansas University Hospital.
