Obama staffer to speak Thursday afternoon at the Dole Institute

These are busy days in the Obama White House with an oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico, a debt crisis in Europe and a Supreme Court justice nominee introduced this week.

Lawrence residents can get an insider’s perspective on the administration when Mona Sutphen, a deputy chief of staff for President Obama, on Thursday visits the Dole Institute of Politics on Kansas University’s West Campus.

Sutphen will speak at 4 p.m. at the institute, 2350 Petefish Drive. Institute staffers said her schedule will not allow for an evening presentation.

Still, “Inside Obama’s West Wing” with Sutphen is free and open to the public.
