To the editor:

The next time we run into our postal carrier, let’s give him or her a special acknowledgment for the effort involved in collecting for the food pantries last Saturday. Walking or driving their routes, delivering mail through sometimes horrible weather and being consistently courteous to John Q. Public is demanding enough without adding the responsibility of picking up heavy sacks and boxes and carting them back to the post office.

The time and energy expended, on behalf of the users of our food pantries and our community members who welcome the opportunity to participate in keeping them stocked, is greatly appreciated by this citizen. Thank you so much carriers and contributors!
