To the editor:

I am disappointed. I am disappointed not just because the Kansas University men’s and women’s basketball seasons are over but also because the Journal-World has not covered the one state university in Kansas that has just won a NCAA national championship. Friday night, March 26, the Emporia State University women’s basketball team won the NCAA Division II national championship!

I realize it isn’t KU, it isn’t Division I, and it isn’t men’s basketball. But it is a basketball team from a university in our state winning a national championship. Isn’t that something to cheer about, and doesn’t it deserve some coverage in the Lawrence Journal-World?
