The city will host the annual Underwater Eggstravaganza at noon on Saturday at the Lawrence Indoor Aquatic Center, 4706 Overland Drive. The event allows children to hunt for Easter eggs in the city’s indoor swimming pool.

The cost to participate is $5. People can register at the door. But to participate in a craft session after the egg hunt, pre-registration is required. Register at www.lprd.org or at any Lawrence Parks and Recreation facility.

The city’s traditional egg hunt also will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at South Park. The annual Egg Hunt Eggstravaganza is expected to last until 3 p.m., and there is no fee to participate. The event is open to children ages 3 to 12. The event allows children to collect up to five eggs, and also includes games.

I'm going to be in Lawrence for the weekend. Does anyone know of anything going on that I can take my 20 month old to? I'm a little surprised that the egg hunt isn't for younger toddlers too.

The Lawrence Parks & Recreation Dept. & both Hy-Vee Stores sponsors this Community Egg Hunt. It's a family event and they don't turn anyone away. The Extravaganza Bunny will be there and they will have some carnival floatable toys for the children to play on as well. There is no ready set go for the Egg Hunt. The children come out between the hours of 1p.m.-3p.m. on Saturday and hunt there five different color eggs and then they take them to the Hy-Vee table to receive there goodie bag. It's a relax atmosphere where families can come out and enjoy the spirit of family, love, and Easter.

Only two? I hear that Lincoln, Nebraska is having forty-seven Easter Egg Hunts. Maybe there wouldn't be so many drunk college kids in this town if there were more wholesome activity options available.

I haven't seen a recent article, but it looks like they are doing these two events again this year. http://www.lawrenceks.org/lprd/calendar
