To the editor:

I would like to publicly thank Rep. Dennis Moore for his support of health care reform legislation in the U.S. House of Representatives. This important legislation will significantly increase insurance coverage for millions of Americans, reduce health insurance company abuses, provide families and small businesses with more options for insurance, close the “donut hole” for seniors’ prescription drug coverage and otherwise improve health care accessibility.

The legislation is not perfect, but it does not deserve the acrimonious opposition invoked by extreme right-wing groups. As a health care professional and educator, I am proud to support this progressive legislation.
