Does anyone know if this race is on hard surfaces or on trails?

I did it years ago and it was on hard surfaces. Of course, I remember it as a 5k and 10k (not a 12k), so they may have changed some of that course for the longer run. Good Luck if you run the race.

Hard surface -- I ran it last year. It starts off on the chip & tar access road right in front of the softball complex, then goes onto the running trail (sidewalk). You just loop back at different points depending on whether you're doing the 5k or 12k.
