The Douglas County Sheriff's Office was searching Sunday for a suspect in connection with two stabbings that reportedly occurred outside The Outhouse, 1837 North 1500 Rd.

According to Douglas County Sheriff's Sgt. Steve Lewis, deputies were dispatched at 1:53 a.m. to Overland Park Regional Medical Center, where they contacted a 37-year-old Overland Park man and a 42-year-old Lee's Summit, Mo., man who had suffered non-life-threatening knife wounds.

The men reported they were assaulted at about 12:30 a.m. by a slender 5-foot-6 white man with brown hair. The suspect was last seen leaving the area in a dark-colored SUV. He was armed with a weapon that looked like a large box knife.

An Overland Park Regional Medical Center spokesperson could not provide updates on the two victims Sunday night.

The Douglas County Sheriff's Office asks anyone with information on the incident or suspect to call CrimeStoppers at (785) 843-8477.

5'6"? When we were told there was a stabbing, some of the girls and I thought it was a larger man who we was a jerk to me and another dancer, too.

I was told what the original argument was about, but I didn't hear it myself, so I won't write the rumor here. (But I will say it was not worth the weaponry).

I only saw the two men chest to chest, being all dramatic.

Notice to guys: getting into big, dramatic arguments is not impressive. In the same vein, escalating an argument into violence is really--truly--unnecessary.

Call a bouncer to hold the guy who grabbed someone, call the police, and have them deal with the situation. It's their job.

AnnaUndercover 4 years, 9 months ago

@LarryNative My boyfriend is a sweetheart who would never start a fight over anything. :P

Pretty sure he can finish one, though. :) Without weaponry. But that's what bouncers are for, so, lucky me/us.

So I guess churches aren't nice places, since a doctor was murdered in one?

Which is worse? Getting stabbed at a strip club or having to explain to your wife how you were stabbed at a strip club when you told her you that you were just going to Lawrence to watch the game at a bar?

Nightclub??? Since when is the Outhouse a nightclub??? I see that since this isn't considered a Hip-Hop club there isn't as much outrage at these "thugs" coming to our sweet town and ruining things. Too bad, I guess were are as bigoted as others in the State. Keep it classy Lawrence!!!

So says the guy who posts on every. single. blog. Anna does... and hangs on her every word.

Why, I just believe you blatantly accused me of a crime there, Vic. And both you and Anna have accused DenaK of stalking... care to explain how that differs, Vic. Stalking is a crime. Funny how your accusations are just a joke and people are supposed to lighten up but when someone pokes a bit o'fun at you in the same vein as bearded_gnome did, someone's panties get a wadded up.

beatrice 4 years, 9 months ago

Vic, nobody blatantly accused you of a crime! Bearded made a quite funny joke that was simply at your expense based on your insistance in regularly defending Anna's "honor." Nobody here actually thinks you have or that you would stab anyone, and, without ever seeing you, most of us even believe you are taller than 5' 6". Lighten up, dude.

Katara, stabbing clearly is against the Outhouse's rules! Regulars know, you can get kicked out for that kind of behavior. The "No licking, no stabbing" sign hangs right next to the "no shirt, no shoes, no service" sign. Rules are rules ya know.

Vic 4 years, 9 months ago

I'm sorry. What was posted was over the line and libel. Katara, grow up. Your posts are degenerating into "I know you are but what am I?" I will not allow my name to be drug through the mud. I should have never have had to post anything on this, and yet someone brought my name up in a "joke" that could lead to a law suit. It is one thing to make jokes. My best friend makes jokes at my expense all the time, so I have a thick skin. But when something is over the line and uncalled for, I will not stand for it.

The "No licking, no stabbing" sign hangs right next to the "no shirt, no shoes, no service" sign. Rules are rules ya know. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ True, but what about cutting or slicing?' Technically, that's not stabbing and you want to follow the rules to the letter. Maybe this guy was just being literal and cut the fellow instead of actually stabbing him. We should request the medical report to find out and if he was actually stabbed. He'll get 2 punishments instead of just one. The first for breaking the law and the second for violating the rules of the Outhouse. They mean business about their rules you know. What if these strippers never forgive this guy? How could he ever go on?

Vic 4 years, 9 months ago

My "rules" are not what is the issue here, Katara. Or can you not read? You are making light out of someone who got stabbed. And someone on this comment board decided to accuse me, even if in a joking manner. It is libel and illegal. I will ask you one more time to back off.

beatrice 4 years, 9 months ago

Vic, I'm not a lawyer, but I can assure you that what Bearded wrote wasn't libel. "Vic" is the log-on name of an anonymous user of the LJWorld website and is not the single name that is synonymous with the "real" you -- whoever you are. You aren't "Cher," "Bono," or "Madonna." If your actual name -- first and last -- were used in the telling of the joke, then you might have a point. Your single name, three letter logon of "Vic" might be the name you use to voice opinions here, but it doesn't actually represent the "real" person you are. Unless the LJWorld broke its own confidentiality rules and provides information about who you are, or you choose to give out more of your personal information, in no way can the joke be linked to the person who signs on here as "Vic." Thus, it can't possibly be libel.

For all we know, my real name could be Vic and your's could be Beatrice. Again, I say, lighten up, dude (or dudette, which ever the case may be). However, thanks for providing me an opportunity to practice my amateur lawyer skills.

And someone on this comment board decided to accuse me, even if in a joking manner. It is libel and illegal. I will ask you one more time to back off. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Go whine to Kealing about it. I'm sure he'll fill you in on the legalities of a forum & internet postings.

And nope, not making light of someone who got stabbed - just of you and the rules are rules mentality. Can you not read?

Again, Vic, you don't like it? Don't comment on it. Don't you follow your own advice? You gave it out quite often on Anna's blogs.

Some people sure get sensitive when the shoe is on the other foot.

Vic 4 years, 9 months ago

It is criminal defamation that is published in a public forum. That is the definition of libel. If you have followed any kind of news, the "confidentiality rules" of any public forum can and have been broken in the case of a serious criminal investigation. So if they are subpoenaed by a court, I believe LJWorld would give up any info they had on any user at any time, so get that "invulnerable anonymity" ideal out of your head.

But the idea here is the difference between a joke and going too far. This was too far. I will not lighten up as I will not accept someone accusing me of a crime, attempting to destroy my reputation, and ruining my life as a result. I will protect my livelihood when I am threatened.

beatrice 4 years, 9 months ago

Katara, good point about slicing and cutting. Maybe when Vic's lawyer contacts us we can ask him if "no slicing" and "no cutting" falls under the umbrella of the general rule of "no stabbing." I think it is generally appreciated that "no sucking" and "no tasting" falls under the overall "no licking" rule, and I feel the "no stabbing" rule will follow in kind. Keep the rules as simple and to as few words as possible, I say. Things are less complicated that way.

Vic, lighten up dude.

Vic 4 years, 9 months ago

As I have failed to bring Katara up to my level in this argument and I refuse to go down to hers, I will simply attempt to ignore her. Man, I wish we had an "Ignore User" function.

I am cutting you some slack on this one, bea as you are not attacking me like Katara is.

beatrice 4 years, 9 months ago

Vic, again, I'm not saying I or anyone else has "invulnerable anonymity." I'm saying that "Vic" isn't an actual person, just a logon name. If it is a "criminal defamation," as you claim, I simply ask, of whom? Who is "Vic"? It is you who is anonymous, thus the talk of libel is ridiculous. How can anyone libel an anonymous person? Seems like a lot of people could cash in on that one, including me, because I am happy to remain anonymous on these boards.

Feel free to exercise your rights, however.

Katara 4 years, 9 months ago

Bea,

Aren't Holiday Inn Express hotels awesome? ;)

Gosh, Vic thinks his internet reputation has been ruined. I wonder how the thousand of other "Vic"s online feel about that. I wonder if they will also show up here to express their Moral Outrage™ of being accused of a crime.

Perhaps he believes we are doing it with malice aforethought?

beatrice 4 years, 9 months ago

I can't believe I just spent so much time defending Bearded. I'm usually the first to attempt to throw him under the bus for his comments.

I must be getting soft in my old age.

beatrice 4 years, 9 months ago

Anyway, where were we?

Oh yes, two people got "cut" at the Outhouse last night by a 5' 6" suspect. Hope it isn't critical and they catch the short guy who did it.

(gosh, hope I don't get taken to court for libeling all short people -- or for ripping off Randy Newman)

If the rules are spelled out clearly then there is little room for excuses as "innocently" or "naively" breaking them. I understand it can get tedious putting it out there but I think it helps avoid some of the problems one could run into.

When you have people suing for things such as not being told not to use cleaning solution as a cocktail mixer, well.... you know how it goes. Although the labels do make for fine internet humor as evidenced by the many websites devoted to them.

beatrice 4 years, 9 months ago

Katara, even if all of the rules are spelled out on signs - from "no slicing" to "no touching the dancers anywhere you wouldn't touch your grandmother" - you are still making one large error in judgment. You are assuming the Outhouse clientele know how to read.

Maybe they need to read the rules out loud to every customer who comes in the door. That is going to take some time.

You want to be here, so here you are."

You were saying again?

beatrice 4 years, 9 months ago

um, anna, I do believe that we actually were discussing aspects of the article, particularly the location of the incident and whether it was a law that you can't stab someone in the Outhouse, or whether it just break a club "rule." Had we been discussing, say, the price of tea in China, then you might have a case. But nope. We were talking about stabbings, the Outhouse, its customers, and the Outhouse's rules of conduct.

I also have no idea where you get off on claiming this is "internet bullying." I did nothing but counter the comments from someone claiming that a joke about an anonymous person was somehow the same as libel. Making such claims in an effort to shut down conversations, on the other hand, is what I see as an attempt at "internet bullying."

Likewise, "bad commenting" (whatever that means) begins when you can't take a joke. Nice of you to come to Vic's rescue, however.

bearded_gnome 4 years, 9 months ago

In this post, "Vic" [creepie stripper groupie] actually compares what Anna does to the work of a doctor! LOL.
Vic (anonymous) says…

@beatrice

Would you do what you do for a living if it paid the same as fast food, ie minimum wage? I know I wouldn't do what I am doing. Would a doctor be a doctor if he was only paid minimum wage? I would say most wouldn't. There might be a dedicated few who truly want be doctors despite the pay. One thing I know for sure, there would be fewer doctors in this world if this was the case. The reason we get these jobs is for the money. Sometimes, we really like what we do regardless of the money. You obviously haven't been following Anna's blogs or some of your questions you asked would have already been answered.

To catch you up... Anna worked for a non-profit organization as a day job for a while. She did what she enjoyed for no pay. To pay the bills, she took up stripping. Ultimately, she left her day job to solely dance for a living. I believe she intends to continue her education and get into law. As for lying about what she does, she has told her parents she waits tables. That's as far as I know.

one last item "Vic," never in my life have I had to pay a woman to undress for me.
no, I'm not movie-star handsome. But I am a healthy man with good attitudes about women. Assumptions about you? of course.

here's another of your gems in your role as Anna's knight: Anna Undercover: Why My Inner Thighs Are Sore Today

@denak

What you are insinuating in your post made me angry. I don't know the motives of the gift giver, but I do know this. Your "holier-than-thou" attitude may have won you fans, but it has made you enemies as well. You like to assume things about Anna, about me, about MeowKitty, about everyone that are not true. Do you give gifts to friends expecting "something" in return? Or are you just assuming that Anna does not or cannot have any real friends? Come down off your high horse and get real. Your post makes assumptions that cross the line.

Even though I love shennanigans as much as the next smartazz, I think it's imperative that if you want to ensite an issue Vic that not even the United States case law would back you on, you please do your research or take some CLE classes on Cyberlibel. By stating that you belive someone was libel (written format) against you is not a true statement. It has been pointed out by several posters that they must have direct identity match of whom you are, these are unanimous postings. Next, I believe there have been several instances in the past year where stabbings have occured at other fine refreshment serving establishments. Probably the most broadcast is the stabbing at Brothers, a non strip club, where people get into fights, and no fighting is posted clearly, and "rules is rules" so yes that would apply. Finally, by some of your continued posting and some help from Anna and her friends you are making the Outhouse a much publicized establishment, free pub. Maybe you didn't think the internet had reached Lee Summit... I hope the guys in the incident are okay, and the guy who stabbed them get's due punishment in a court of law, not Vic's court of law.

his PM and my answer: The user Vic sent the following message to you via LJWorld.com:

==============================

I don't appreciate you mentioning me in that article. That is slander. Don't talk about me like that again or you will hear from my lawyer.

==============================

Please do not reply to this e-mail message. To send Vic a response, visit this Web page:

http://www2.ljworld.com/users/Vic/contact/

---is it slander, libel, liabel, tort, or whatever there "Vic?"

your threat doesn't scare me.

I'm writing to let you know that now that I've had some time at the keyboard, I have posted on that thread. you really should read it for my full reaction to your threat! /gnome

Look out! Somebody disturbed the slumber of the Gnome!!!!

Bearded, I wondered where you had gone off to. Here I was playing "Vic" to your "Anna," defending your honor and your right to joke at will, yet you were nowhere to be found. For a joke quickly removed, this discussion sure had some legs (my pinkied comment was commending you on your use of humor here, by the way. That, and mentioning "the rules" of the house). Funny thing is, it actually did relate in an odd way to the article.

Good times on the boards. Good times.

---yeah, sometimes there's just no rhyme or reason to the pinking! thanks for commending my use of humor. I think it is often the best way to make a point and apparently it sure was here!

indeed! it sure did have legs!!! slumber? more like disturbed the lumber of the gnome. I just can't sit with fingertips poised over the keyboard all day, dernit! I don't have a job that allows me to slackoff!

but yes, it seems my joke sure did hit a cord, or a vein! and I thank you for the work you did on here along with Kat.
"playing "vic" to my Anna...LMAO!

and for "Vic"'s benefit, I'll repeat: I have never had to pay a woman for sex or to get naked for me.

bearded_gnome 4 years, 9 months ago

you got that right Kontum1972!

Blue, did you say "Zombie strippers?"
does this mean there are people who strip zombies for a profession? or, that there are zombie exotic dancers? both sound dangerous an should be outlawed by enactment of the kansas legislature immediately!

bearded_gnome 4 years, 9 months ago

of course we need to start on the award-winning ljworld forum a series of: "zombie stripper" blogs written by one of them!

Ol' "Vic" sure is quiet now!

wonder if he had a chat with his anonymous lawyer?

denak 4 years, 9 months ago

BG,

I didn't post anything remotely offensive. Nor did I threaten anyone directly or indirectly either. Apparently, the powers that be don't know their famous movie lines.

All I said was that if I am supposedly "stalking" Anna, (what a bunch of crap that is) then the people of Lawrenceshould "be afraid, be very afraid" since I am 5'6, white and have brown hair like the perp in the article.

I specifically did not mention "Anna" because 1) it was not directed towards Anna but the people of Lawrence, whom I am sure know that I don't pose a threat to them and 2) I didn't want to give Little Miss Precious, yet another reason to play victim.

However, just to make it clear to "Anna" and to the editors of Lawrence Journal World, it was a JOKE. I have not ever sent Anna a threatening email,(even though she likes to imply that I have....don't see you guys deleting that) nor have I or will ever pose a threat to Anna or any other person who wants to make their living grinding against drunken strangers.

I'm sure the citizens of Lawrence can now take a huge sigh of relief now that they know that they don't have to "be afraid."

Zowie Dena! and you're 5 foot 6! do you own a boxcutter? lol!

thanks for filling me in! yes, little miss manipulative loves to play the VICtim.
I agree with your posts on her blogs, keep up the good work! never understand why ljworld admin even seems to have encouraged that waste.

Gnome - I can tell that you are not prepared for the coming Zombie Apocolypse. Buy ammo and liquor!

---well I do know about the coming zombie crash! and how it'll include zombie strippers.

I understand the use of the ammo, though I'm not a very good shot so make mine shotgun, sawed -off, please!

but is the liquor for me, the zombies, or the zombie stripper groupies?

... or, is the liquor something convenient to set on fire???

bearded_gnome 4 years, 9 months ago

Beo, you hit the pink a lot there buddy. somebody's over sensitive...maybe it's an anonymous lawyer?

I see on the "stripper blog" that "our dear Anna" is now defending the creepie stripper groupie, and is ignoring those who have the afrontery to treat "Vic" so rudely.
... guess she wouldn't answer my question, if I even had one for her ... LMAO!

bearded_gnome 4 years, 9 months ago

interesting: number of posts went up but no new post here!

somebody post and get disappeareddedededded that fast?

brujablanco 4 years, 9 months ago

How is this, the continual picking at vic and anna, any different than what happened to irish? Do you happen to know for certain they have "stable" personalities?

bearded_gnome 4 years, 9 months ago

bruja, it was "Vic" who went on the attack. and as to "continuous" this isn't very long in ljworld-blog time.

yes, "our dear Anna" probably isn't a good example of somebody with a good head on her shoulders. neither is "Vic" but as with Irish, I choose not to infantilize them. they choose to come on here, having some familiarity with this forum.
ljworld admin apparently has done some actual encouragement of "our dear Anna." I would have gladly ignored her filth except it was showing up on other blogs and other story threads. so apparently ignoring was not working.
unfortunately, ignoring can be perceived as acceptance.

beatrice 4 years, 9 months ago

"unfortunately, ignoring can be perceived as acceptance. "

ding ding ding - I think we have a winner.

Bearded is absolutely correct. I too ignored for some time anna's using the ljworld site like it was a feature in Craigslist personals section. Finally couldn't stand it any longer. Now, I do let her know that stripping isn't just going to be accepted like it is waiting tables. Only reason Vic gets involved in any of it is if Vic inserts himself between anna and those letting her know how they feel about her and her line of work.

I believe there is a time and a place for everything, and in my opinion the stripper blog just isn't the sort of thing that belongs in a family paper. What next, a blog from the happy meth head, the carefree porn star, or the grumpy White Supremacist? (wait, they got rid of that last one, didn't they)

rbwaa 4 years, 9 months ago

"...Vic inserts himself..." he, he, he --- good one

workinghard 4 years, 9 months ago

beatrice___actually it started on Craigslist, then she took it to LJW. Darn Gnome, you just had to say something that made sense, "unfortunately, ignoring can be perceived as acceptance. "

bearded_gnome 4 years, 9 months ago

to continue my thought for Bruja: I just don't buy Irish's innocent routine. I also think I caught her on this week trying to blog with her fifth identity.

why thank you Bea, once again you are playing "Vic" to my "Anna" LMAO! beatrice (anonymous) says…

---careful there RBWAA, next you'll be asking Bea for lapdances!
yes I noticed the pun there, and guessed Bea made it accidentally. ... but who knows!

thanks Workinghard. yes, ignoring it became like approval. and her filth would then show up on totally clean threads such as some about Christmas wishes, then we get panty sniffing!

bearded_gnome 4 years, 9 months ago

Beo, maybe I'm slow but I am not filling in the blanks for v---- i----- c-----??? and apparently if you spell it out admin kills your post. they're happy with panty sniffing on a christmas blog but they kill your terminology, go figger!

bearded_gnome 4 years, 9 months ago

---wow, you got some ideas here girl! a stripper is live porn after all. we could add to the list: a blog by the shadey used car dealer [it's legal after all]; the grafting politician; or the builder who gets away with using substandard building materials!

Bea I think you've come up with a whole new section for the online paper: take a shower when you stop reading here! good title?
"happy meth head" isn't there a song ... ?

budwhysir 4 years, 9 months ago

Well, I have been trying to get some print time here at the ljw. I was shooting in the wrong direction. All I had to do was take up the dance profession and let people pay me a dollar at a time. IM available for your next party give me a call

bearded_gnome 4 years, 9 months ago

okay Budwhysir, now would that be a polka? LOL.

you know, Bud, if you started dancing some woman could spring up here on ljworld and answer your stripper blog questions for you and be your defender, like totally!

brujablanco 4 years, 9 months ago

gnome, I whoeheartedly agree with you on the fabrication of Irish's innocence. I also pretty much agree with bea about the inappropriateness of a stripper blog on this newspaper. I guess my point was - why is this different? Where is the righteous indignation of some regarding the treatment of anna and vic? Some of us took some flack for basically telling Irish the truth on her blogs, why not now?
I have pointed out to anna the obsurdity of her "stalking" claims previously. She obviously wants the readers to believe she feels threatened, so how do we know she won't take what is said here and do something irrational with it?

bearded_gnome 4 years, 9 months ago

Bruja, oh! I had completely misunderstood your previous comment.
yes it is funny how some criticized us for pursuing even marioni!

bearded_gnome 4 years, 9 months ago

deserves its own post: Bruja said: I have pointed out to anna the obsurdity of her "stalking" claims previously. She obviously wants the readers to believe she feels threatened, so how do we know she won't take what is said here and do something irrational with it?

---I had the same thought! also "Vic" has a potential to really go off, as I was humorously pointing out in my joke that started this thread!

if "our dear Anna" thinks what Bea and Denak are doing is "stalking" that is amazing.

bearded_gnome 4 years, 9 months ago

Multi is right: real men get waxed Jesse, remember the wacko ljworld article of a few months ago!

so, you absolutely must get your chest waxed!

bearded_gnome 4 years, 9 months ago

and thus seems to end this thread, the story of "Vic" the creepie stripper groupie."

one hopes it did some good.

no more ignoring filth. it gets mistaken for approval.
