Lyon Street repaving project to run Tuesday through Friday
Ballplayers making their way to Lyon Street Park may choose to find a new route Tuesday, as city-hired crews plan to repave a block-long section of the street.
Beginning Tuesday morning, crews are scheduled to start grinding up the damaged surface of Lyon Street, from North Second to North Third streets in North Lawrence.
New, smooth pavement is expected to be in place with new lane markings sometime Friday.
During work, Lyon will be reduced to one lane of traffic. Flaggers will be posted to regulate traffic through the area, and traffic delays are expected.
Officials say drivers may use Locust, Lincoln or North streets as alternate routes.
