Amateur radio event set at KU this weekend

The Kansas University Amateur Radio Club will host the nation’s largest communications disaster drill for amateur radio operators Saturday and Sunday at Learned Hall on KU’s campus.

In the event, known as “Field Day,” amateur radio operators across the region compete in a 24-hour event where operators try to make the largest number of radio contacts throughout the U.S. and Canada.

The event begins at 11 a.m. Saturday and runs through 1 p.m. Sunday. For more information, visit k0ham.com — that’s a zero in that address — or contact Reid Crowe at 393-2386 or reid.crowe@gmail.com.
