Couple to portray first Kansas governor, his wife

A Lawrence couple on Sunday will portray first Kansas Gov. Charles Robinson, a Lawrence founder, his wife, Sara, and their roles in Bleeding Kansas.

Harold and Donna Riehm will give a free performance at 11 a.m. Sunday at the Unitarian Fellowship of Lawrence, 1263 N. 1100 Road.

The Riehms’ portrayal mainly follows 1854 to 1863 and deals with Robinson’s protracted disputes with James Lane. It also includes Robinson’s firsthand assessments of John Brown.
