Federal prosecutors accuse Kansas City woman of helping husband abduct her 16-year-old daughter so he could have sex with her

? Federal prosecutors say a Kansas woman helped her husband flee the state with her daughter so he could have sex with the 16-year-old girl.

The 44-year-old Overland Park woman is charged with aiding and abetting the interstate transportation of a minor with the intent to engage in sexual activities, obstructing justice and harboring a fugitive.

The U.S. Attorney’s office says her 39-year-old husband was charged Monday with possession of child pornography and attempting to coerce a minor to have sex with him.

The woman is accused of leaving her daughter with the man on June 3, in violation of a court order placing the girl in protective custody.

The man and his stepdaughter were taken into custody Thursday in California after investigators traced credit card purchases to a hotel in Huntington Beach.
