June 9, 2010

The Douglas County Special Olympics is hosting its annual Lew Perkins Golf Classic on June 18 at Alvamar Golf Club, 1800 Crossgate Drive.

The four-person scramble costs $600 per team or $150 per player, which includes lunch and dinner during the event. Lunch and registration begin at 11:30 a.m., play starts at 1 p.m., and dinner and a benefit auction begin at 6 p.m. For those not golfing, tickets to the dinner and auction can be purchased for $40. Golfing and auction costs can be paid at the event.

Proceeds from the event go to the local Special Olympics team and its year-round programs for athletes.
