Fun to watch

To the editor:

Come on people! Don’t be so hard on Lew Perkins. After all, this is the man that told us that dealing with the tangling of the football team vs. the basketball team was “the most difficult thing” he’s ever had to do! And besides, isn’t it obvious that the man never TOUCHED that athletic equipment! And the suggestion that he could have used the equipment already at Kansas University, well again, come on. I mean, you never know who could have been using it before he touches it.

OK, all kidding aside. First, he can teach me something. Like what it means to really “take responsibility.” Secondly, is now the time to not only spread the booty to the rest of the school, but to include a stipend to the athletes? Third, sorry, but I think this is fun to watch. In a world where justice seldom befalls the guilty, this is one big boy on his way down. Surrounded by money, and hired to maximize it, is anyone surprised how easily tainted one can become?
