The event is known as the Northeast Kansas Barbecue Championships and is a Kansas City Barbecue Society-sanctioned event.
But the festival won’t be limited to barbecue.

Children’s rides, remote-controlled airplanes, vendors and other attractions also will be part of the barbecue event.
Main judging for sauce starts at 11:30 a.m. and barbecue at noon Saturday.
