Logical step
To the editor:
As a financial manager, Lew Perkins is obviously a failure. He is responsible for ALL activity under his control or purview, including ticket transactions. Yet he most certainly knew about marginal ethics or shady ticket management, costing the athletic “department” millions of dollars in revenue that went to lower-level managers under his control and oversight. How could he possibly not know as a reasonable managerial expectation?
If the “department” were managed as a large corporation with a strong active board, Lew Perkins, one of the highest paid athletic directors in the country, would be shown the door, just as he did to Mark Mangino for a much lesser offense. Will the KU board and chancellor step up and take the logical disciplinary action?
