Minority rule?
To the editor:
This is in reference to the tax article in the July 21 Journal-World, “Public voices support for tax increase.”
Twenty people support higher taxes? This is so ridiculous I have no words to describe it. What about the thousands of people who also pay taxes? Going to meetings like this does no good. People in Douglas County know that.
What if 20 people would get up and protest more taxes? Would the county change their minds and not raise taxes? You know they wouldn’t. They would say 20 people do not represent the majority of the county, so we won’t pay any attention to them.
