Lynette Woodard honored

Lynette Woodard was honored last weekend as the 2010 Pioneering Achievement award winner at the 14th annual Amelia Earhart Festival in Atchison.

Each year, the Pioneering Achievement award honors someone who carries on Earhart’s spirit. Past recipients have included authors, politicians and pilots.

Woodard, who was the first female player to play for the Harlem Globetrotters, also participated in a speakers’ symposium on Saturday in Atchison.
