Kansas high school students to learn about public service at KU leadership conference

About 60 high school seniors from across Kansas are attending the Dole Institute of Politics at the University of Kansas this week to learn about government and public service.

The Youth Civic Leadership Institute began Wednesday and ends Friday. It’s intended to teach students about getting involved in public service and to help them develop their leadership skills.

The Dole Institute began the Youth Civic Leadership Institute in 2006. It’s free for the students, who are nominated by their high school administrators to attend the institute.
